Medicated Vampire Dreams

It never fails that when I am on medication of any kind outside the scope of my regularly prescribed migraine of GI meds I have they CRAZIEST dreams!  I really need to start a medicine dream journal. I mentioned last week that I've  been sick and the docs prescribed me ear drops for an infection and a coughing syrup “sleep aid” for my disgustingly bad non-smokers cough.

Aside from keeping me awake (as opposed to helping me sleep) the medication is giving me some crazy syfy dreams.  I am just going to give you a taste of the mini movie I endured last night. Yes I wrote it like a script and yes I know lichens are from Underworld (don’t judge me damnit)!

FADE IN:
INT. Downtown Louisiana
 (LC Bad ass vampire)
Louisiana Urban Jungle overrun by Swamps (organic plant life) in the year 2055.  Scene opens on a young African American vampire looking out the window of an abandoned office building at a swarm of vampire zombies eating the flesh of a newly turned decoy.

LC V.O. (voice over)
Look at them…vultures preying on the weak. When did my people become cannibals? How can one virus undo an entire species this way? I have got to find Remy and Ash, but how will I get back to the safe zone without being detected (PAUSE)
I will have to travel during daylight hours. It is the only way.

As the sun rise peaks through the buildings the zombie vampires scatter like cockroaches. Our protagonist makes her move, cloaked in curtains and covered from head to spiked boot toes.
CUT OUT

INT. Hospital Setting
(LC Bad ass vampire)
Open on dusk our protagonist has found a blood bank and is trying to stock up for travel. Humans have all been captured for breeding, said for a few pockets of rebel fighters. Raiding blood banks is the easiest way to avoid viral infection and the risk of a live feed calling the attention of zombie vamps. LC hides under some weeping willows on what used to be a back street that is now over run by river waters. A pack of 3 zombies is up ahead feeding on what appears to be humans (most likely a vampire kill gone wrong). The trio is in tattered clothes and carriers the virus mark (blotchy decaying hives covering their entire body). So occupied with the fresh meat they don’t even see HER turn down the alley.

LC
(WHISPER) Tthey are starting to expand their hunting zones; I have to cover more ground during the day. I’m going to need a boat. (HEARING a branch break in the wooded area to her left)
Get to higher ground LC. (Scaling a tree with speed and ease like a cat; she hits the tree tops to get a better view)

LC V.O.
(PANIC) Shit it’s Lichen

Lichens are animalistic breed of shape shifting vampire that hunts everything including the zombie vamps. They live in the wilderness and are the ultimate predators, vicious and merciless. I haven’t fed so I can’t take this one on and survive.
LC V.O. CONT
I have to hope it doesn’t see me. I should climb down and try to hide in the water, that’s my best bet.

FADE TO NEXT SCENE

Lying in wait under the surface of the water as the current sends leaves floating by; she turns her head and just as the lichen spots her.

LC V.O. CONT
Ruuuuuunnnnnnn!!!!

SHE Flies out of the water as the Lichen begins pursuit, Swinging through tree branches trying to out run the hunter.  After a  mile she sees an end to the tree line and realizes she has to double back. Switching directions the Lichen continues to stay on her trail. She sees the zombie vamps finishing their kill and decides to use them as decoys.

LC
(CALLING out to the Zombie vamps) HEY!!! Hey… fresh meat over here.

They aLL turn and see her; the Lichen pauses to assess the situation.

(Speaking to the Lichen) You have plenty of options here; you don’t want to eat me. See fresh blood, fresh kill… go play with your food.

The Lichen moves toward the zombie vampires and attacks

LC V.O.
Now or never! R-u-n east, put some distance between you and the lichen before it gets bored with the easy meal. Stay in the urban jungle out of the woods, until you know it’s safe.

10 minute 10 {Break Thoughts}

Getting up this morning was difficult; the rain makes you want to curl up in the bed and eat snack foods while you watch Netflix.  But I have started my day and after about 1 hour in the full swing of work, I took a break.  I had a ton of ideas bouncing around (as always) so in true random style here are 10 thoughts I’m currently having:
  1. I have no idea what my website looks like. Working on a new business website and I have been soooo caught up in my blog that I haven’t checked in with my web developer. PAUSE   Text message has been sent.  In other news, my blog site is just the way I like it; slaving over hours of template changes, widgets, and gadget making, I finally got it there. Managing two blogs isn’t as bad as I thought it would be I just need to fight the urge to sleep. Soon Random Ramblings is getting a facelift, since I have mastered the art of html coding with eblogger I might as well!  Check out my progress at Cordier Event Planning Blog
  2. It is already April! I can’t believe how quickly time is passing! It will be my birthday before I know it! I have soooo much to do this month and next. I will try to refrain from taking on any more projects…I swear! Baby shower and dinner party are keeping my focus for now.
  3. I am literally counting down the days and hours until I can get a new cellphone (25 days 14 hours)!!!! I am pretty sure I am getting a Galaxy (about 98% sure) I’m just deciding if I want to wait for the new Galaxy S4. It may push back my wait time and I’m not sure I can handle any extra blackberry time right now.
  4. My friends stay sick and I don’t like it. Injuries, hospitalizations, and influenza (Oh my).  I need everybody to heal up, rest up, and get better I don’t like it when you guys are sick.
  5. I found a card-reader that works! Shout out to Best Buy for helping me fix what Target ruined.  Now that I have a working card reader my photos from my new Nikon camera will grace computer screens everywhere!!! This reminds me I need to send my family the pictures from this weekend. I’m going to make a photo album and it will be great!
  6. Just in case you were going to ask, no we haven’t set a wedding date yet. Get off my ovaries people; it will get here when it gets here. We might do like the 5 yr engagement (minus the breaking up, cheating, and living in the cold). Besides we have things to do and money to save, weddings cost money, not the monopoly kind. We are accepting donations for wedding expenses; feel free to email me for information on contributions.
  7. I have ventured back into the world of meat eating with minimal meat eating.  I haven’t jumped back in full throttle, other than eating that steak for breakfast on Easter morning (I just had steak no eggs).  Kinda disappointment in myself since I expected more from my stomach; but at this point I have decided to hold off reintroducing the hard stuff until after my vacation (only eating chicken on special occasions i.e. whenever I’m not cooking).
  8. I had a dream I was Emily Owens from the CW show (which I have never actually seen, only previews).  It was weird and I was crying during my shift because one of the other doctors was mean to me. Jackass!!!!
  9. What is the shelf life on hard boiled eggs? After you boil them, how long can the sit??? I ate one yesterday that may have been questionable but I just didn’t care.  PAUSE According to USDA’s Egg Storage Chart (factsheet) I can refrigerate hard boiled eggs for 1 week! So that egg was questionable, oh well, it tasted fine.
  10. I got my hair done and it feels silky smooth. I touch it a lot more right after a visit to the salon. I don’t care if that makes me weird I like how soft it feels.
Well I guess my break is over!  Have a great day everyone!

Time is up...

BathTub Dreams

I was feeling some kind of way this morning but after knocking out some work specific tasks I do feel better.  As I’m about to embark on lunch, I started thinking about dreams; not the life goals kind but the ones you have in REM stage of sleep. There was a random reoccurring theme in my dreams last night and it has been bugging me all morning.

I know many of you could care less about what I dream but this blog isn’t about you, now is it? My various dreams last night mostly involved family and activities, but there was something common in all of the segments of dreamscapes and that was bathtubs filling with water.   In every scenario at some point there was either an empty bathtub overflowing or a person in a bathtub filling up with water.  Bizarre I thought mainly because there was no concern about mess or clean-up on my part.

Me being the Type A nerd that I am, I decided to use the fancy square processor at my finger tips to investigate the meaning of this on the internet (my one and only source for all legitimate non-rape related information). For those following political news you know what that reference means!

Please note that my factoids come from dream dictionaries including http://www.dreamforth.com/; http://www.dreambible.com/ and http://www.dreammoods.com/ I was limited due to content blocks, silly work computer Trix are for kids!!!

According to dream dictionaries:

To dream about seeing or being in a bathtub indicates a need for self-rejuvenation and liberation from daily troubles. You should lighten the load that you have been shouldering. It's also a sign that you crave affection, enjoyment and peace. You may feel submerged in your subsurface thoughts. You should relax and slow the pace instead of plunging into things.
To dream that you are taking a bath signifies a cleansing of your outer and inner self. You are washing away the difficult times. This dream may also be symbolic of ridding yourself of old ideas, notions, opinions, and other negativities. Your dream may be pointing toward forgiveness and letting go.
Water in dreams most often symbolizes our negative unconscious thoughts and emotions, negative situations that bring uncertainty, the unfamiliar, obstacles, or unwanted changes. To dream of running water represents negative situations or uncertainty that you are noticing all the time. Dripping water may reflect a problem situation that is slowly beginning to surface.
To dream that you are in the bathroom, relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to "relieve yourself". Alternatively, it may symbolize purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically.
So now that I have been enlightened by the internet about the symbolism in my dream, I realize much like a well-trained psychic detective this interpretation is accurate! And I am relieved that I am not going to drown in my own bathtub in some weird horror story, Final Destination 6+ movie ending!
·         I do need liberation from some issues bothering me, and yesterday I did reach my quota for daily troubles.
·         I do crave affection and peace, I also crave sleep but my creepy dreams are preventing that!
·         I did rid myself of old ideas and notions recently surrounding my sister and my emotional cleanse is in progress with the help of wine and DVR!
·         I was feeling some very negative and borderline hostile emotions yesterday that are a part of reoccurring negative situations. Who doesn’t ask if there is a meeting before cancelling, grown-ups with ulterior motives that’s who!  Who emails you with consistent hostility after telling you they won’t contact you anymore, crazy 24 year olds that’s who!
·         I can assume that since the water was flowing that my subconscious is sensing a situation that is quickly approaching; my impending move perhaps. I have like 6 weeks to find a place to live since my lease is up. I HATE moving all those boxes, all the sweating, bribing friends and buying furniture. Arg!!!
·         I can assume my instinctual urge is to kill like a ninja and I’m cool with that. I did relieve myself this morning when I woke up so even that part has validity.
Dreams are so true sometimes. I wonder what it means when I have that Animated Super Hero Justice League dream. Batman is a pimp; Wonderwoman a prostitute; Superman a used car salesman/street peddler (selling pocket watches out of his cape). Everybody has reverse roles and it’s in full color! More research required!!!
