When is Easter?!

Happy Ash Wednesday friends and readers. Lent is upon us! I don’t often post about spiritual things but today I’m sharing my goals for Lent (in the most random way possible); more as a personal accountability tool than anything else!

The season of Lent is a Catholic liturgical season consisting of 40 days of fasting, prayer, and penitence.  I may not be the best catholic but I’m practicing.  This Lenten season I’m challenging myself to add and subtract things that will help give me perspective. Sure I am going to participate in the normal fasting practices but I am also hoping to forfeit some of those things that have taken over my life and increase actions that can help me embrace the call of Christ and improve my personal character.

Lent 2013 the Road to Awesomeness (some of the things I plan to do):

·         Sacrificing my favorite foods – no wine, or mac and cheese, or junk food. I am cleaning up my act and actually doing the master cleanse, focusing on detoxifying my body and resisting the temptation to eat what I want.  I’m working on discipline people (by starving myself)! I will warn you that my mood is going to take a turn for the worse once I remove sugary and carby loaded goodness. Expect my blog to be dark and full of food references for the next 40 days.
·         Better use of Social Media – I dare myself to post a spiritually uplifting, though-provoking insight, or a prayer each day through my social networking sites. I get tired of using social media to further promote ratchetness or call attention to negative, crazy, or incredibly stupid things. Maybe I can try to inspire others or at least myself.  So facebook and twitter look out I’m bringing the inspirational!
·         Not purchasing (any new shoes or clothing) - in an effort to stop my closet from becoming overrun and to make room for the Man of Steel to move in, I’m making space in my physical world. Metaphorically, this is allowing room for other more important things in my life. In actuality, I’m spring cleaning so he has room to put his clothes in the closet.
·         Helping More – charity will be a focus this season for me. I am going to do more to help out those in need (works of mercy)! I plan to donate clothing (I am reducing inventory for reasons mentioned in the bullet above), tithe more, give to organizations of my choice. This is more than a tax ride off this is helping people.  I may even volunteer my time to teach blind children to read, you never know.
·         Committing to Quiet time – I’m a going to take more time to commune with God. Personal prayer with the Lord is important. Quiet time also means taking more moments to de-stress, release anger, and focus on relaxation. So while I am having a massage, or working out, or whatever know I’m ignoring you because I am trying to talk to God (it’s not you, it’s him so don’t take it personally).

I’m not confident I’ll succeed in my quest but I’m trying anyway! At the end of these 40 days, aside from being hungry, skinny, and very zen I hope to have learned something about myself and my place in this world. Either way the journey continues and randomness will prevail along with Jesus. I’m definitely team Jesus and the Holy Spirit and I have the ashes on my forehead to prove it!

P.S. - Happy Birthday to the Best Dad Ever! I hope you are having a great day!! Love you!!

Bad Feeling

Do you ever wake up and have the feeling that somebody is going to break into your house and steal everything you own. Well me either, until today! For some reason I woke up with an ominous feeling.  It could have been the rain. It could have been the fact that on my way to grab my breakfast I spilled something on my dress (I didn’t care enough to change by the way).  It could be that I live near a shadier group of residents and juvenile delinquents.  It could have also been sleep deprivation but either way I just had a bad feeling.

The kind of feeling that prompted me to hide my diamonds and take pictures of my major electronics, all before walking out the door.  So now I have a blackberry full of photos and a ton of questions.
Priority question:  What is this feeling?
Secondary question:  Why I thought taking pictures of my stuff would make me feel better?
Tertiary Question:  Where is my tide pen?

Have you ever acted on your instinct then wondered what the action would accomplish or why? I do it more than I would like to admit taking a different route home from various locations, following my gut and buying those chocolate brownies (don’t judge I get hungry), not accepting facebook friend requests, avoiding craigslist (at all costs), not dating certain people (that was back in my single days), offering my friends alcohol to see if they are pregnant. Sometimes you just think something is up and you do things to test your theory.

I’m a firm believer in intuition. No I don’t logically think somebody is going to break into my house today. I recognize that was a bit ridiculous but I’m a bit ridiculous so I accept that. Why did I question safety this morning, we may never know. But do I follow my gut, hell yes!  It has only let me down twice and that was mainly because of lust or my personal decision to ignore it! I suffered the consequences for that and now I know better. Other than those two incidences, my gut has helped me make very good life decisions about work, friends, finances, and relationships.

The Man of Steel (this is how I will forever refer to my Fiancé  via blog because he is awesome and a Steelers fan) says I think the best of people. He is so very right; I use my gut to assess people. If I can connect with them and my spirit gives an initial ok then I roll with it.  My gut helps me determine how to categorize friends, how to participate in situations, and what decisions I can feel comfortable with making. I do wish my gut helped me pick restaurants, that is one choice I avoid making at all costs. I will also point out that my gut is easily distracted by food and snacks so sometimes it takes a minute to figure people and things out.

In the end everything works out.  Whatever is going down today I’m ready for you and if somebody does happen to break into my apartment I have renters insurance so I’m not too worried. I also know karma will haunt you Paranormal Activity style so I wish you luck.

Grammy Awards Blah Blah Blah

For the first time in a very long time I actually watched most of the Grammy Awards last night.  So instead of weekend catch-up I want to cover some Grammy Award moments of interest. Good bad and ugly from last night’s awards could take up 2 entire blogs so instead I am just going to hit some high points for me.

Most overrated moments – way too much emphasis was put on the Chris Brown and Rihanna reunion.  Like Drake, I wasn’t amused! Who cares!?  If this young couple of crazy kids wants to be together then clearly they will. Why were we making such a big deal about it? We all know that if he ever does anything to her again, we will NEVER know.  Let them live people. They are destined to be the Bobby and Whitney of this generation.  Let it happen and then wait for the weird reality show! Also topping my most overrated moments list: Jack White’s performance (his creepy Elvis inspired evil eye suit made me very uncomfortable); Fun. they are talented but the song selection was terrible; and being lied to that people were going to perform but only giving them 30 seconds of air time (if I wanted a 1:30 preview of a song  I would have gone to iTunes).

Please just stop – Frank Ocean! What the hell was that? Kudos to you for running, singing, playing piano, and upsetting your fan base all at the same damn time. Your yellow suit and headband aside, I was left confused, upset, and disappointed in your live performance. I blame you Chris Brown for upsetting the balance in Frank’s mind!  Other please just stop moments included Katy Perry’s 2 Elephants in the room; Taylor Swift (at some point can the camera find somebody else to land on?) we all know she knows every song and is 16 going on 17 forever and ever; Wiz Khalifia and Miguel’s suit jackets (optical illusions distract from your talent), The Dream's hat (enough said);  that Fun. singer wearing skinny capris in the rain with no rain boots; and the red carpet because it is clear people will wear anything including curtains, astronaut suits, and explosions of tulle regardless of the respectability of the event (all we needed was Kenya Moore in some booty pads and it would have been an affair to remember)!

Top Moments (for Me) – The tribute to Bob Marley (although I would label it an acknowledgment not a tribute). Thank you for putting the Marley brothers on stage. RiRi did a good job and Bruno Mars and Sting were epic. I enjoyed Mumford and Sons and I’m glad they had some big wins last night! I also want to thank the Grammys for bringing Justin Timberlake back, music missed you JT! Clearly the top moments should go to American Idol for creating hit makers Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Idol alum are winning and singing like no others! Prince presenting was also pretty amazing, he never ages which is starting to make me consider the possibility that he is an alien (his cool is just too powerful). Just remember never touch the cane, don’t look him directly in the eyes, and avoid his pancakes; he may steal your life essence to keep his appearance young forever.

The 55th Grammy Awards wasn’t as eventful as I had hoped but let’s be real it never really is. I will likely go back to not watching as I have in years past. I mean if it is going to keep interrupting Walking Dead and other shows then I’m sorry it will always be on my watch via twitter list.

Have a great Monday everyone and keep an eye out for Forrest Gump, I know he is running on your mind!

Scandal Life Lessons

I love me some Scandal and it will be a rare occurrence for me to discuss it in my blog but after watching last night’s episode I had some thoughts I needed to share! This show is more than just entertainment, it is educational.

·         Dating married men is wrong. We all know this but it does make for good TV. To all the homewreckers and side chicks out there don’t make lustfully bad decisions.  Karma is real and the devil can actually be in people (I mean you Millie). We learned a valuable lesson last night and that is the wife is still winning (even when she is wrong wrong wrong).
·         Killing your spouse is never the answer and gay marriage should be covered under spousal privilege!
·         We are all just babies to Mother White America (this society we live in is still minority, majority) –much like Cyrus and James adopted a little black baby we are all at the mercy of the majority. Not a fan of this fact but on a record breaking show with a black leading lady she is still losing to the white man’s world.
·         Political Animals! Politics has a sliding scale of morality and ethics. We all know it but the one thing that seems to continuously ring true is the addiction to power.  We need an intervention people!
·         Gladiators don’t have feelings.  Sometimes being a warrior requires sacrifice and you have to put your feelings aside and handle business.
·         If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck it’s probably a horse. A Trojan horse that is; I felt a little bamboozled by all the twists and turns last night. The most valuable thing learned is that people aren’t always who they say they are.  Also people have limits, push them too far and they become killers.

Aside from all those life lessons, I’m debating whether I need to bring back What If Friday. I'm on the fence so we shall see how next week shapes up.

I hope everybody has a great Friday!  I am going to live above the influence! For those that aren’t aware, I'm not referring to drugs; I'm speaking on the temptation to slap people in the face and other inappropriate actions!

Concert Conundrum

Rain Rain Go Away! Aside from making it difficult to get out of bed you make traffic worse and people crazy! Either way, I hope everyone is having a happy Thursday.  This morning I have Beyoncé on the brain. I’m planning to go see Mrs. Carter when she swings through Atlanta this July.  While the ladies and I were planning this man free excursion the question came up, how much would you pay for concert tickets?  Personally I had to contemplate what my money was worth. A concert is a temporary event but can be a lasting memory.

So I posed the question to many others. Some said $90, others said no more than $50. One person indicated she knew someone paying $2200 for Beyonce tickets. $2200 (that is a mortgage payment and a car note…INSANE)!!!!!  But I know money is relative and some experiences for people are priceless.  Personally, I would be willing to shell out more money for bonafide legends like Prince, Michael Jackson (RIP) or Whitney Houston (RIP) and only it was like a final tour type of thing. But for regular radio hit makers I’m not giving you my money, I can watch an episode of story tellers or Palladia for free and be just as happy with my experience.  So I started thinking if I paid $2200 *high blood pressure starts now* what would I hope to get from my concert experience.

I decided to share what I feel ticket price ranges should buy if I am going to pay.

$40- $50 – this is what tickets should be so I expect a nose bleed seat, a decent opening act, an on time performance from the headliner and overpriced drinks.

$50- $100 – closer to the stage, 1 unknown opening act, 1 decent opening, act,  an on time performance from the headliner, overpriced drinks, and a partridge in a pear tree.

$100- $250 – I should be in section behind the section closest to the stage, I want a free program/brochure/poster, parking discounts, 2 decent opening acts, an on time performance from the headliner and the ability to sneak in a flask (hey I paid a grip for tickets).

Anything in the $300+ range  - should get me close enough to reach out and touch the artist, catch a sweaty t-shirt (ewww but I am putting it on eBay),  have a chance to be picked to come back stage, snacks, and amazing photo opportunities (and the previous mentioned items)

Anything more than $1000+ - for this much money I should get my own row, the performer should be a multi-platinum selling artists older that 18, I expect a hologram of Tupac, fireworks, dancing, full set of songs, waiters should serve me in my seat, Alcohol should be free, the artists should be able to hand me a mic so I can sing, I get backstage passes, I also get a tour of the artist’s home/tour bus. It should include family dinner, autographed paraphernalia, a Spanish lesson, untold stories of their life (rights to an Autobiography),  20% off my cell phone bill data plan, a new pair of Jordans (I don’t wear them but it should be included),  and a day off work (reimbursed).  Are you crazy asking for that kind of money for a 4 hr. show?!?

Unless it is a charity event you need to calm that down. Beyoncé I may not be front row or even close to VIP but I will be in the stands.  To the girl paying $2200 I hope you get to babysit Blue Ivy and braid Beyonce's hair before the show, you deserve it. The rest of us are just hoping for some good music and pyro technics! I hope I can see a Jay-Z cameo and her weave blowing in the wind on the big screen… sing your weave out B! I can’t wait for this show!

Make Love not Gun Laws

Good morning folks! I’m off to a late start this morning but I did go to bed at 10pm and wake up on time, I’m just moving at the speed of molasses.

I have been caught up in the news coverage about the boy that was kidnapped off a bus in Alabama. I was happy to read yesterday that he has been returned to his home safely.  This got me thinking about how far we have come as a “civilization” (I use that term loosely).  Nothing is sacred anymore. You can’t go to the movies, fly on an airplane, or send your kids to school.  Where do we go from here?  We might as well be living in an episode of Walking Dead because this wild wild west mentality is dangerous and hinders our evolutionary progress.  What are we without our humanity and compassion? Animals and zombies behave better than we do. Don’t attack your own unless you are threatened; zombies don’t eat each other, I’m just saying.

As a non-breeder it makes you hesitant to even consider having children because what kind of world do we live in. I’m going to have to wrap my kids in kevlar, live in an underground bunker, and exercise my 2nd amendment right.  The Atlanta news did a segment about bullet proof book bags! Really them make bullet proof book bags now?!?! It is completely disheartening to know that creating a safe environment for your family in today’s world is so complex. How do you keep your kids safe and still educate them about the world?

I started thinking about home schooling and immediately ruled that out because I am not prepared to be trapped in a house with my future children for 8-10 hrs teaching them reading, writing, and calculus (let’s be real kids today don’t learn arithmetic they are teaching them MIT level engineering calculations).  I suck at calculus, I’m pretty sure I only passed because of the Grace of God.   I will likely have to pay somebody to home school my kids.  Then I realized I was thinking about my future kids and this conversation I was having with myself was expensive and completely inappropriate! LOL

After that I focused my energy on thoughts of self-preservation. What would I do if the world was overrun by zombies or if I was out in public and folks start shooting?  What do you do? What would Rick from Walking Dead do? Of course I would run but I like to think that I would act smart, look for my partner in avoiding crimes and make sure he was ok. I also want to be where he is since he packs heat! When you care about people I think they become an extension of yourself, so your instinct for preservation extends to them.  I would try to help people I hope. Honestly, I don’t want to ever find out what I would do because I don’t want to be in that situation. It is unfortunate that statistically the chances of that are becoming more and more unlikely.  So what do we do?

I try to avoid discussing politics because I would probably find myself in office somewhere waiting for Olivia Pope to bring a team of warriors to fix a mess I made. I will say that I don’t feel one way or another about gun laws because I’m a firm believer that if it wasn’t guns it would be bombs, or rocks, or bricks, or fists.  Make love not stricter gun laws. We need to change our culture and how we socialize our kids.  A weapon is a weapon, what is the problem is people’s comfort with attacking and harming others.  It’s a new right like breathing for some which is an indicator that our society is desensitized and moving toward the emotionally inept.  We are too advanced for our own good and we have forgotten we are all animals on the same team.  Sing Kumbaya people, drive a Volkswagen, listen to some Bob Marley and find your inner peace. Keep your emotionally unstable, aggressive, murderous behaviors to yourself. We should be working together, building each other up, not grabbing kids off buses and shooting up public places.

With that said we are all on the same team until you pull a gun on me or my future kids, I will come at you like a spider monkey. Know that I am ride or die for my family, which means over my dead body (or yours).

Ode to Football

Dear Football,
We have come to the end and I’m sad to see you go.  Thank you for another season of hard hits, ridiculous officiating, glorified reporting aka ESPN exposés (I’m talking catfish), camaraderie, great catches, amazing runs, goal line stands, losses, wins, and overall joy from watching supreme athletes compete at the highest level.
Now that a Super Bowl champion has been declared (Congrats to the Baltimore Ravens) our love affair is temporarily on hold. You return to the shadows as players recover, teams rebuild, and basketball players start to stretch their legs.  As we close the door on another season of greatness, I shed a tear knowing that I will have to go on without you.  No college football flags to wave, no tailgates to attend, no college game day or NFL red zone.   All I have are CSS sports repeats, Saints t-shirts, and UGA hoodies to keep me warm and maintain the memories.  My fan gear will only get me so far before the reality that I will have to suffer through basketball season truly hits.
Football you allow me to be me, without you I am a shell of the woman I once was. You make it ok to eat chicken wings and drink beer without working out. You make it acceptable to plaster my car and body with paraphernalia. You make it culturally acceptable to yell at strangers and chant in crowds (WHO DAT!!!!). You make it ok to indoctrinate children and debate at the dinner table.  More importantly you connect  friends and fans (enemies too) of all races, creeds, and nationalities; giving me hope that this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed (thank you Dr. King for having a dream).
I just want to thank you for a few highlights that have me salivating for the 2013 - 2014 season:

  1. Rev Ray – thank you for giving that man a Ring on his way out. Ray Lewis is an amazing player to watch and he will be missed. However, I am looking forward to his glorious career as a minister, public speaker, or life coach. I also look forward to his commentating and coverage because somebody is going to hire him to talk football and that my friends will be like going to Church every NFL Sunday. I plan to tithe and catch the Holy Ghost in the front row whenever he is on TV. Thank you Ray!
  2. NFL Thanks you for Being a Fan - because of this commercial I am whole heartedly convinced that at some point in my near future a large box will show up on my door step and Miles Austin, Desean Jackson, or Braylon Edwards will jump out and take me on adventure. I hope my fiancé doesn’t hate on me (I will get autographs and be on my best behavior, pinky swear).
  3. Free at Last Free At Last Sean Payton is Free At Last - although he should have never been suspended in the first place thank you Football for reinstating my head coach. I am also thankful that players - Jonathan Vilma, Will Smith, Scott Fujita and Anthony Hargrove - had their bans overturned on appeal. Let’s move on from this and make a Bounty paper towel commercial about stains featuring the NFL and its bounty gate witch hunt.  I’m thinking super bowl debut.
  4. Replacement Refs are no more- I am just glad the paperwork was signed and that replacement refs have returned to their regular post at Buffalo Wild Wings. Everybody wins!
  5. Loyal Dawgs – thank you Aaron Murray for planning to return for your senior season. The Bulldawg nation appreciates your loyalty and we look forward to you delivering the goods. If you decide to date Ms. Georgia beware that she will get more attention then you at the BCS National Championship Game.  Or you could just steal Ms. Alabama (we know you want too).
  6. Any references to Manti Teo’s fake girlfriend. I enjoy a good catfish story like the rest of you.  The fact that his story has spawned catch phrases, twitter accounts, and comedic exploits makes me love it so much more. Thank you for replacing Tebowing (it was time).  Thank you for being the “scandal” to end the season. We all know your girlfriend turned off the lights at the Super Bowl Last night (he he he he) call Scooby and the gang a supernatural ghost is at work.
  7. SEC – high scoring, grown man football playing teams! Thank you for being the best conference EVER!!! Eventually, a day will come when an SEC school isn’t playing for a national title, but I plan to be rolling over in my grave by then.  We have won the last six BCS titles and that is all I have to say about that! I'm Proud to be a part of the SEC fan kingdom!!
  8. BCS announces four-team playoff – we will see how this four-team playoff system in 2014 shakes out. I am reserving comment.  I have another year to mull it over before I make judgments…
  9. NFL Draft - my money is on Leon Sandcastle. I do however look forward to seeing the who, where, and what that transpires at the draft.  The draft is the official merger of my passion for college football with my respect for the pros.  My heart and soul are in college football but watching players move on to the next level is joyful, plus it is a marker for the return of the sport I have grown to love!

Football, don’t forget what you are and what you do for people! You are AMAZING! My favorite sport, I salute you and mourn your absence all in one breath.  Can’t you be like year round school; small breaks in between to give us more time together. Don’t leave, baby come back!!!! I’m not sure what I will do without you but I’m counting down the days (205) until we meet again.
Faithful Fan and member of the Who Dat and Bulldawg Nations!
The seats may be empty but not for too long...

FunTheory

I was trying to figure out the hype about this new Volkswagen commercial. For the record, I don’t think it is racist and I do find it hilarious. A wa do yu…Calm down and have a red stripe mon for (for those that didn't laugh)!!!  While I was reliving some of Volkswagen's funny commercials  (i.e. kid Darth Vader, Unpimp Your Ride, Rocking out to Rush, Dog Strikes Back, and Vamonos) I stumbled upon a cool program and website they sponsor called The Fun Theory!

It is a behavior change movement that is right up this psych major’s alley.  It was videos of people using fun to inspire a change in behavior. I first watched a video displaying a question: Can we get more people to take the stairs by making it more fun?

What comes next is something I would describe as pure simplistic genius. They turn a set of stairs (next to an escalator) in a public transportation/subway station into a fully functioning piano.

The prospect of endless boredom is a thought I occasionally have (especially at work).  Enlightenment inspires a better future. Fun is a method of positive reinforcement that encourages change and learning.  So this theory appeals to me on so many levels. So after that peaked my interest and I watched more videos on the website, I started thinking about what boring things I would like to spice up. Sure I could have thought about the greater good like they did; reducing obesity, clean living, saving lives, and preservation of the earth (something with purpose) but that wasn’t self-serving enough. I save enough lives, so I really focused my thoughts on what I wished was more fun, not trying to change a behavior. I just want to spice up my day. Here are some things I wish Fun Theory would tackle and suggestions for what would make them more fun for me.

  • Traffic Court – I see some type of criminal game of Clue.  They just read charges and you have to guess who did what. Or you could play Detective.  Have one person leave the room. Everyone else agrees to have something in common—and when the detective comes back, they have to guess what everyone has in common using yes or no questions only. People can give the detective clues and if they guess they get out of the ticket.
  • Standing in Line at the Post Office - I hate waiting to mail an oversized package or get a passport photo but a hybrid of Hopscotch and Cranium would make it more appealing. Every time you move a square in line it gives you an action, like skip to the front, stand on one foot, say your ABCs backwards, or something equally silly.  I would play, would you?
  • Doctor’s Waiting Room - setting up some kind of medicine bottle Plinko game might make that wait for my primary care provider pleasant.  Or maybe a musical chairs game where if you have all your insurance paperwork filled out, you rotate to the music and the one closest to the receptionist when they call next wins.  I would enjoy that (I always win at musical chairs).
  • Being on Hold (phone) – I think being able to turn my phone into a voice modifier while talking to operators would be awesome. I could change their voice into whatever makes me laugh (darth vader, helium balloon, 2 chainz, etc) and not be as angry when they are telling me stupid policies. Also if you would make the menu selections more creative that would be great (to hear me speak in pig latin press #1, for nothing but praise press #2, to speak to somebody nice press#3…)
  • Tax paperwork - if my tax paperwork could be on a words with friends board, I might actually pay attention to it.
  • Meetings - I think meetings should all be conducted like the newlywed game. Everybody gets a card and you have to guess what the person talking is going to say. The correct person gets to leave.  You could also do meeting taboo or charades so talking is limited and buzzwords are banned!  It would certainly make meetings more fun for me if I could limit people’s ability to speak!

This list could get really long but you get my point. Let's make fun theory happen!!! You know what dis room needs? A smile…Who wanna come wit I?”

Back in Action

Apparently it is 2013! I think that's a fitting time for a comeback! I know I have been away too long but good things come to those who wait.

So much has happened since we parted ways and I'm not sure where to begin. I think I'm just going to hit the high points that way we are all on the same page!

Business - I'm a woman of the world and have started the adventure of becoming a business owner, event planner and regular jack of all trades! All I can say is I have learned a lot about myself and other people. I'm working my way through challenges and celebrating successes! Stay tuned people there will be plenty event planning, consulting, and writing for you to hear about.

Engagement - so I accepted an engagement ring over the Christmas holiday. Like 51% of Americans I am getting married. For better or worse is what they say but for the record getting engaged apparently means you also open yourself up to assumptions, unsolicited advice, opinions, and so much more than just congratulations and well wishes. You would think with so many people doing this every year it wouldn't be this big of a deal. All I can say is no we haven't picked a date, no we don't know where, when, or how. When I know I'll tell my family and those invited (in that order) other than that you'll just have to read the cliffs notes or follow me on twitter @LMcordier

House hunting- my blog has been full of complaints about apartment living. But now that I'm about to be a part of a 2 income household so that dream is on the verge of being a freakishly expensive reality! What is freakish is my excitement (not our budget...I still have sense)!

Hair today, gone tomorrow - this may not mean much to you but this past month my hair dresser of 18 years moved to Michigan. I am devastated (clearly as I am writing about it on my blog). Finding someone else I trust with my hair is going to be a challenge. I knew this day would come but I was hoping it would be when I was retiring to a nursing home and didn't care about my hair anymore. Lena King you will be missed my hair owes you a ton of gratitude! It will never swish the same...

Vacation - I am finally going on vacation this year. I was in need of a trip and a reason to workout so I decided to kill two birds with one stone. This year's vacation destination is Punta Cana, DR. My passport, bathing suit, and bikini body will be ready. I don't like using the f word without a French accent but this is in print form so I have no choice, yes my fiancée is planning to join me and we are going to party like unmarried rock stars!

My president has been inaugurated again...just let it marinate!

iPad apps – I found blogger for my ipad so I can now write from the comfort of my bed, coffee shops, doctor office waiting rooms, or any other place I deem necessary. This means you get my random thoughts as they are happening not after the fact. Get excited, seriously you should be excited!

Anti-Ruzzle - the new craze sweeping the mobile games nation is still on my no fly list. For now I'm just going to stick with games I know and can trust, at least until I run out of people to play. I'm good and have no desire to switch to the hottest trend. Me, Words With Friends, and Oregon trail are doing just fine.

Aside from a few thoughts on ESPN's attempts to be the Washington Post (just report sports and not Catfish scandals you created); the media's ridiculous obsession with lip-syncing by a woman who we know can sing (Beyoncé can buy America twice over so who cares); and the flu running wild because people are anti-vaccine (be sick if you want to), I think we are all caught up! I also think that was the longest sentence ever!!!!!

It is good to be back!

We Are on a Break...

Just wanted to make you aware of my upcoming absence. I am taking a sabbatical from blogging. It has been fun my friends but I have to focus my attention on some other ventures so my time is limited but my thoughts will remain.   I'm just changing the frequency of my posts (to be less frequent).

This is a break and we can both see other people (the best kind of separation). So don't forget me friends...Let's not think of this as goodbye but a temporary farewell!

Besides, I'm an eternal creature living forever in print :)

Have a great December!!!!
